It’s no secret I’m a fan of TED talks. In fact I love online learning because it’s at my own pace on my schedule, and I can fit it in when I can best focus. Another place where I’ve done a lot of online learning is the wonderful Khan Academy, where you can learn all sorts of complicated things at no cost. I’ve just learned about an online learning community where you can not only learn anything, but teach anything. It’s a brilliant concept. Here’s their overview video, and I’ve just started building a course on Udemy called Seal the Deal, which I’ll post here once it’s published. If you have written a book or have anything to teach, this might be a solution for you.
And, frankly, I believe what they are up to. Here’s their mission: “Udemy’s goal is to disrupt and democratize the world of education by enabling anyone to teach and learn online. Just as blogging democratized the publishing industry, Udemy seeks to dramatically change education by empowering millions of experts to teach & share what they know.” Yahoo!
UPDATE: (March 20, 2012) I just posted my first course on Udemy! Check it out here: Seal the Deal: How to Win Business and Influence Leadership
